Reading

Well, I have been in a bit of a funk the last few weeks and have been unable to concentrate on anything that I really love doing--like reading. Right now I am in the middle of re-reading Pillars of the Earth (something I tried to read again in order to pull me in and make me read) and The Lovely Bones. So far, I am enjoying Lovely Bones so it has kind of pulled me in, and have set aside the other. Let's hope I can finish it. What I need is a book that drags me in no matter what I have to do and makes me hate for it to end. You know, like Kite Runner, Water for Elephants, and so many more that Jenny P and I have read over the years and loved so much that we have shared them with each other and others. So IF you know of any, PLEASE respond by letting me know the title and author because I am at a loss.

I am attaching a couple more pictures from Track and Field Day because I hate a pictureless post. It just looks so sad and lonely :)

Daddy takes Pics too/Track and Field Day

Today was track and field day at the girls' school. Sierra took first place in high jump, 100 yd dash, and class relay. Maddy took first in soft ball throw, second in class relay, and fourth in 50 yd dash and high jump. Big Mike was there as a parent volunteer while I was at work. He said that they really had a lot of fun and that they really tried their best. I am attaching a few pictures from today as well as one of the sunset here two or three days ago. Michael took them all.

Storm Coming

SSSSSOOOOO our weather is all over the map. Apparently, today the temp was 20 degrees lower than it has been in previous years. It was 64 degrees and then with the wind it was cooler. Then came the storm. Tomorrow is supposed to be 74 degrees and then in the mid 80's for the weekend. The new header is a picture taken from my back porch tonight. I really love this view but have to be honest and love it more when the grass is green. The brown is a bit depressing to me. The picture from this post is also from the back porch as the storm was rolling in and we were watching the light come through the clouds. It sure is pretty out here.

Things here are ok. The school year is running down with the last day being on the 4th. I keep wondering what we are going to do because we don't have the wonderful playground outside our house and all the friends so close like we did in Germany. I sure miss it there. So do the kids I must say. I am happier with the school here though...even though I would be even happier if I had a full time job with my own classroom. I keep praying that it will happen next year...
