Well, the light at the end of the tunnel is drawing nearer by the moment. Last Wednesday was my final day of student teaching. I stayed for parent teacher conferences because I felt it was a good learning experience to be on the other side of the table, but Wednesday was the true end date. While I know that it is not official yet as I don't have that special piece of paper from California; however, the weight on my chest is much lighter.
I feel like I can breathe a sigh of relief and take a bit of a break. I read a book today (subbing until a position opens and was off) completely for pleasure with no schooling in mind. I am starting Amy Tan's Saving Fish From Drowning tonight. I took the kids to school this morning, went on a long walk, did my laundry, swept, mopped, did a little grocery shopping, read, walked to pick up the girls, and made the family chicken alfredo with green beans for dinner. All mild and unexciting, but honestly...it was so nice. Tomorrow I think I may go for another walk after dropping off the kids, go REAL grocery shopping at Patch (where the food is stocked), and read some more. Ahhhh...the little things in life.
