So, in case you are unaware it is teacher appreciation week. In fact, today was the last day. Monday was bring a flower to the teacher day, Tuesday a piece of fruit, Wednesday was an appreciative letter, Thursday was a sweet treat, and Friday was a gift of your choice. I just want to say that I have some of the best kids in the world in both fifth grade classes. There have been some of the sweetest notes from both students and parents over this last week. Some that made me laugh aloud, and some that brought tears to my eyes.
The truth is...I love presents (anyone who knows me knows it's true) but there were several things that made this so special to me. First, I know that this was all the work of both students and parents. Second, they were so excited to give me everything that they did and when I responded so enthusiasticly about every little thing, I could see their eyes light up.
Maybe I am not explaining this well enough, but it wasn't about the gifts. It truly was about the thought, the time, the consideration. I don't think I could even express how much each little thing meant to me--from the biggest piece of pottery to the smallest hand written note. Teaching might be stressful sometimes, I may get frustrated, I may want to cry some days, but oh how blessed I am to make a difference in even ONE child's life.

you got a lot of stuff! Really cool they do this except you did get a lot of candles and sweets..Looks like we have a lot of un-creative (non creative?) parents out there! But cool nonetheless. And it must feel good to be so appreciated. I would bet money you're a good teacher:)
