What Did You Do Today?
I got the first part of my new tattoo today. It was four hours of laying on my stomach on a massage table while a very nice man took my newest idea and special drawing, drew it on my back, made his changes, and then seared it into my back with a thousand tiny needles. It is not finished and I have to go back in two weeks for the color in the cherry blossoms, the koi, and the different shading details. I had a small circle planned just below the existing Chinese writing but Frank (my tattoo guy) from Get Lucky Tattoo said no. He said it would look like four unfinished pieces of work and that this way is better because it will look like one big finished, flowing piece of work. I love it, but
I think there are some people who read my blog who won't :) It's OK...his idea was better than mine, and I like it a lot. But I am biased because I love tattoos and I love his work. You can be honest in your opinions, and I won't even get upset. So have at it :) NOTE: They chinese writing in the koi on the left is joy or happiness, and the one on the right is sorrow. I know that is what it really is too because I am the one who designed the tattoo and then we looked again before the ink went on. I don't want it to say something like pig vomit :)
