What Did You Do Today?
I got the first part of my new tattoo today. It was four hours of laying on my stomach on a massage table while a very nice man took my newest idea and special drawing, drew it on my back, made his changes, and then seared it into my back with a thousand tiny needles. It is not finished and I have to go back in two weeks for the color in the cherry blossoms, the koi, and the different shading details. I had a small circle planned just below the existing Chinese writing but Frank (my tattoo guy) from Get Lucky Tattoo said no. He said it would look like four unfinished pieces of work and that this way is better because it will look like one big finished, flowing piece of work. I love it, but I think there are some people who read my blog who won't :) It's OK...his idea was better than mine, and I like it a lot. But I am biased because I love tattoos and I love his work. You can be honest in your opinions, and I won't even get upset. So have at it :) NOTE: They chinese writing in the koi on the left is joy or happiness, and the one on the right is sorrow. I know that is what it really is too because I am the one who designed the tattoo and then we looked again before the ink went on. I don't want it to say something like pig vomit :)

beautiful! wow, did that hurt! I am SO ready for my first (yes, FIRST!) tattoo! Justin and I have planned to get them for our 5 year wedding anniversary.(NOT names/initials! Even though we plan on staying together forever... just not our thing!) Gotta wait 'till the states though. They don't do them here! I really do love it! And I LOVE that you designed it! I've got the idea for mine! AWESOME! Hope you've had a great week so far!
oh my gosh.... wow..... I can't wait to see it in person. You have to wear a tank top the next time you're in the store. wow.... (those are good wow's, just in case you're wondering...)
Sasha, You say your first tattoo as if I should be shocked that you don't have one :). It's not abnormal for people to have no tattoos even if you are beginning to be the minority rather than the majority. HMMMM. An anniversary tattoo. I could get a new one for my 15 year anniversary :) No intials though or names. I am happy that I designed all of mine too even though he (frank) tweaked all of them by taking what was in my head and drawing it the way he saw it in his head. His artistry far outshines my own. I can't wait to see it colored in though because right now it is bland to me. I love it though.
Holy Cow! It is gorgeous! Tattoos are not for me, but I can appreciate someone else's. It has a lot to do with the needles........
Kelly, Thank you. I am glad you like it. It seems to be the general concensus; however, people could be lying :) It's been known to happen. I will be sure and wear a tank next time I come in the store so you can see it and others can be shocked. It's fun for students' parents to see me like this outside school and be shocked. Apparently, I don't seem the tattoo type.
Corinnea, You are like my friend cindy. She will NEVER have one, BUT says she loves mine. I can't wait to see this one finished because it is still kind of BLAH to me.
